Male Herman tortoises are generally smaller as compared to the females. Specifically, females are ten inches longer than males. The males of this turtle type can reach up to six inches long.

The habitat you have to provide for them should have a sun-drenched portion. It must not be extremely damp and should contain vegetation in which your pet can eat or hide. Herman tortoises are species of turtle that choose to lie dormant through winter or even summer. Whatever the season may be, raisers need to be aware when their pet needs to hole up and hide away. It is sensible for these Herman tortoises be given some form of vitamins or supplement although pet raisers have to make sure that they accurately measure those supplements. Too much or inadequate increment are both harmful your pet tortoise’s health.
